When fashion does philanthropy

Women in power or else Women for Women. The elite of Italian female fashion designers convened to create for one purpose, a better future for women who have survived wars and conflicts. The initiative of fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar and London based boutique Browns, brought Frida Giannini, Donatella Versace, Alberta Ferreti, Veronica Etro, Angela Missoni, Rossela Jardin, to transform white T-shirts into masterpieces embellished with their own signature style.

Charity’s goal is to support Women for Women International, which helps female survivors of the brutality, abuse and torture of wars and conflicts happened or happening in their region. The organization through direct aid or educational, training and small business development programs, help the victims sustain economic self-efficiency. Women for Women International was founded by Zainab Salbi, an Iraqi American activist and writer.

The limited edition T-shirts cost  £39 (43), come in 6 different designs and they are available online through Browns Boutique. They ship worldwide and to all GCC countries.  I just ordered the Frida Giannini’s one and I seriously consider placing a new order for the Versace one as well đŸ™‚
